GIRLS ARE THE ROCKS AND BOYS THE SKIPPERS

To anyone who takes time out of their more or less busy and fast-moving lives to read this, I just want to apologize for my selfishness and say this: Thank you for reading my blog , and my deepest and sincerest apologies for not keeping it updated. You see, we were recently with less  internet here. Today we got it back, though, and now I have the priveledge of fighting over the laptop with the rest of the family to prove my selfishness yet selflessness to anyone who skims across this. Now, for a topic.... I'm going to do a more moody/poetic blog today. It's not myself speaking, it is my poetic self and this is to appeal to the more creative viewers . So here comes the real blog: Some guys' lives are like rock skippers, and girls' lives like a flat stone. The flat stone that you - the skipper - search for about twenty seconds when you spot it. You spot it sticking out of the ground, half buried in the sand. You squat down, dig it out, brush it off and push your non-dominant foot forward. You bring back your dominant wrist then thrust the stone forward with one quick flick. You count the skips: 2, 3...4? What was that splash?  You'll count it as four. Then, just as quick as you threw the rock, you'll bend over and search for another 'perfect stone' .Of course you'll spot one - maybe better or worse than the previous. You'll sink one or two - they'll be bad rocks. Of course, to a girl, this is how they view the boys. Girls are the rocks and boys are the skippers. This is their perspective on them. And, to most boys, this is true. You'll spot a girl, half alive and half knowing what she wants, you'll pick up and make her pretty and happy...then you'll throw her, and you'll forget about her and move on just like that. You'll find another, just like her, that may not work out as well as she did. You might not even skip that stone. But sure enough, you'll always wish you threw that rock better...metaphorically speaking. Literally speaking, now, I'm getting into more scientific matters. IF YOU SKIPPED THE POETRY, THE BORING STORY LESSON STARTS HERE!

  1. Interesting that yu noted dominant foot and hand. Never thought of it, but I think you are correct. Not sure about the metaphor, but I suppose it is true for some.

  2. Skipping stones is a knack. Boys might like to be likened to rocks, but I don't think girls see themselves as flat stones!

  3. Such an interesting topic. Makes me think of the best skipping I ever did was at the quarry. I think we live in an age now that there are many females with male mentality..as you put it. Some of us love many while others find a true presences. It is a gamble..but skipping rocks can be that way too. Thanks for your post.
